A 250,000 m² masterplan that reunites three fragmented plots along the Danube in Bratislava, structuring a new urban district through the logic of the river itself: stratified, directional, and open to the water.

The project takes the Danube as its organizing principle. The river's slow current, the gradual erosion of its banks, and the layered sedimentation of geological strata become the conceptual model that structures the masterplan: an urbanization that grows in parallel bands along the riverfront, each carrying its own density, height, and program. Three plots—previously fragmented by natural and urban conditions—are unified beneath a longitudinal axis that follows the river's flow. Building volumes are oriented according to the angles of tributary branches, stepping back in terraces as they rise. The lower levels, closest to the Danube, accommodate lower-density residential use; the blocks farther from the riverbank concentrate greater height and office-scale density, engaging with the built fabric of the surrounding context. Retail unfolds at ground level, articulating the natural terrain with podiums raised 1.5 m above grade. The masterplan proposes an urban experience directed toward the river: views from public spaces at ground level and from residential and office floors above converge on the Danube, making water a shared horizon. Pedestrian circulation flows linearly between sectors, while vehicular traffic is resolved in underground parking beneath each podium—freeing the surface entirely for collective life.
