Universidad Torcuato Di Tella

The proposal for the new building at Universidad Torcuato Di Tella is driven by a dual intention: to organize the program along a linear logic while establishing a conscious departure from the existing structures on the site. Dematerialization serves as its guiding principle — a strategy that expresses itself differently depending on how each element relates to its immediate surroundings. At ground level, the interplay between glass planes produces a phenomenological transparency that dissolves the boundary between inside and outside. The volume sustains a symbiotic relationship with the neighboring park: natural light filters through and continuously transforms the interior atmosphere across hours and seasons, making the building a living, responsive presence within its context. The structural and façade modulation aligns with the organizational grids projected from the buildings along Sáenz Valiente and Alcorta, integrating structure and envelope into an optimized, coherent system. Vertical circulation is organized around a quadruple-height atrium that opens views toward the central courtyard and the Alcorta building, while a helical staircase connects every floor and embeds, in its very form, a spatial metaphor for the elevation of knowledge.
